Hope you can all see the image, seems to be a rare article, mentioning the Norman company in their infancy as a motorcycle manufacturer. You can also look on the Norman page of facebook to see a close up if need be. if anybody would like a copy, i will gladly send it it via email to you. They were called Wilfreds after a Daily mirror cartoon, Pip ( a dog) Squeak(a penguin) and Wilfred ( a rabbit) referring to the Motobyks under powered engine as a pip squeak or Wilfred. my son is now shatterd that my bike is called Wilfred Norman and not kawasonda fireblade!. Ps- the bike spluttered into life last week, for the first time in at least 45 years- All 3 seconds were momentus....

Hello Adam.I could not see the pictures but am pleased to hear of another old bike coughing back into life.Even after years of tinkering with ancient machinery I still enjoy getting some old engine running properly again. When I was a toddler my Dad had a Wilfred, could have been a Norman or Francis Barnett, there were all sorts of them still in use then and I remember sitting in a box on the rear carrier and being taken for rides.Probably agianst some law nowadays.Cheers Paul
